Shuttle By Dalmia Bharat To Promote Excellent Badminton Talents
‘Shuttle by Dalmia Bharat’, is a newly inaugurated High-Performance Centre (HPC) dedicated to promoting excellence in badminton.
It was inaugurated at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneshwar by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam, Shri Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, India’s Chief National Coach, Shri Pullela Gopichand and Shri. Puneet Dalmia, Managing Director, Dalmia Bharat.
The HPC, which is a three-way partnership between the state of Odisha, the Dalmia Bharat Group, and the Pullela Gopichand Badminton Foundation (PGBF), will be called the “Dalmia Bharat Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy”.
The school, which has a 77,000-square-foot indoor space with eight badminton courts and 400 chairs, will make use of the facility’s cutting-edge sports facilities to support the comprehensive training and development of young talent under the direction of top-notch instructors. The landmark building features a gymnasium, an amphitheater for outdoor events, and contemporary living quarters for 50 athletes. There is a remarkable 360-degree panoramic view of the city from a viewing ring on the terrace.
The building is an architectural wonder with a first-of-its-kind shuttlecock-inspired design in India. Additionally, the building demonstrates a dedication to sustainability by using rainwater collection for groundwater replenishment, low carbon (green) cement, and LED lighting that uses less energy. Additionally, its unique inverted shell shape reduces power usage, which helps it be more environmentally responsible. The maximum wind pressure on the facade is decreased by the smoother wind flow made possible by the aerodynamic circular form.
