Leading Indian real estate company Merlin Group announced the second iteration of Merlin Green Frames, a live nature photography competition that aims to showcase the beauty of nature and encourage environmental preservation. The tournament, which is slated for November 10 at Merlin Greens, close to IIM Joka in Kolkata, encourages photographers and environment lovers to document the flora and animals in the verdant surroundings of Aquaville and Ibiza the Fern Resort & Spa.

Mr. Sushil Mohta, Chairman, Merlin  Group announced the second edition of Merlin Green frames 2024 in the august presence of  Mr. Milan Mandal, Former Divisional Forest Officer, South 24 Parganas & Presently Joint Director, JICA, Forest Department, Govt of West Bengal, Mrs. Subha Das Mollick, noted film director and professor, Mr. Sayan Choudhury, Founder of the Indian Photographic Academy. Mr. Sandipan Mukherjee, renowned photographer and author of, two critically acclaimed books “On Broken Trails“ and “Gangasagar” was also present at the launch. He will be the mentor and judge of the contest.

More than 90 nature enthusiasts, professional and amateur photographers, and photographers have already signed up for the competition.

This program, which was started in 2023, uses photography to promote environmental awareness and a strong bond with the natural world.

Additionally, the Indian Photographic Academy will lead knowledge-sharing seminars during the event.

The contest is spread over five categories:

Landscape: Co-existence of humans and nature

Macro: Capturing minute details

Birds: Their habits and habitats

Flora & Fauna

Life in Action

Workshops conducted by mentor Mr. Sandipan Mukherjee and Indian Photographic Academy founder Mr. Sayan Choudhury will offer helpful hints and methods for enhancing abilities.

The top 10 winners will receive cash prizes, trophies, and gifts from Ibiza the Fern Resort & Spa at a lavish award ceremony held at Merlin Aquaville.

“The chosen photos from the nature photography competition will be on display for visitors and the general public at an exhibition we are planning at Acropolis Mall,” said Sushil Mohta.
