The shooting of the Bengali film Somporko was in progress at Mejobari in Behala.

Laboni Sarkar, Samadarshi Dutta, Kamaleshwar Mukherjee along with the director Ashok Mondal was present at the shoot of the film.

The sequence that was being shot was a Durga puja song.

The story revolves around a boy Avirup who has no father and lives with his mother, wife and younger sister. To purchase a house he goes to a bank for a loan. His mother goes along with him and there she notices her husband. Meanwhile, the loan is passed and they purchase the house. During the housewarming ceremony, a bank manager comes into sight and represents himself as his father and start explaining the incidents of past which separated him with them. Except his son, everyone refuses to accept him in the family. When the younger daughter demands for a relationship proof, he goes away from the house. Suddenly on his younger daughter’s birthday, the same bank manager pops up with a cake and states that the cake itself is the proof. With the help of the cake it is proved that he is their real father and everyone accepts him with open heart.

Speaking in between shots, Laboni Sarkar said “This is a conventional Bengali film. And you will see me in the role of a mother. This is one role that I have been playing for a long time now. How the director will treat the role is what I am looking forward to. I have asked the director to challenge me as an actress so that I can do something different in this role”.

Kamleshwar Mukherjee, Laboni Sarkar, Samadarshi Dutta, Rimjhim Das, Anup Chakroborty, Ayantika Nath will be seen in pivotal roles in the film.

The film is produced under the banner of Priyanshu Film Production

The music has been composed by Ayush and Shaan has lent his voice to a song in the film.

The shooting has been done in Sonarpur, Salt Lake, EM Bypass, Behala and other places.

The film is eyeing for release soon.
