With people singing carols in the background, amazing Christmas décor, and mouth-watering food on offer, Peerless Hotel Kolkata organized its annual cake-mixing event.

The event was graced by eminent dignitaries like Nicolas Facino, Alliance Française du Bengale, Imran Zaki, Mau Chaudhuri, GM, Peerless Hotel, Kolkata and others.

The custom began as a family gathering to get ready for the Christmas harvest in 17th-century Europe. The Sunday before Advent was the customary date.

During the ceremony, alcohol such as rum, brandy, whiskey, or wine is combined with dried fruits, nuts, and spices. To enhance their flavors, the fruits are steeped in alcohol for weeks or months.

The event is an opportunity to celebrate the season and get together with loved ones.

With the cake-mixing ceremony over, Peerless Hotel is all set for the upcoming festive season.
