Alembic Pharmaceuticals Limited has been recognized by Guinness World Records for its nationwide hypertension awareness program, in which 10% of the participating physicians were from West Bengal. This significant achievement demonstrates the state’s initiative in tackling a significant health issue.

Only a small percentage of adults in India are diagnosed with and treated for hypertension, also known as high blood pressure, which affects 28.1% of the population. Alembic’s Summit division took the risky decision to bridge this gap after realizing the urgency of the situation. The team began a week-long campaign from May 13 to May 19, 2024, to reach 15,568 Health Care Professionals (HCPs) throughout India in honor of World Hypertension Day on May 17, 2024. With the goal of early diagnosis and better treatment outcomes, this program urged healthcare professionals to make an online commitment to support enhanced patient education and hypertension management.
