By winning the Girls U-14 Singles and Doubles titles at the All India Championship Series in Guwahati, Assam, Aanya Biswas, a Grade 7 student at Orchids The International School, Newtown campus, has solidified her status as one of India’s most promising lawn tennis players. After her victories in Delhi and Kolkata earlier in April 2025, this most recent victory completes an incredible hat-trick of U-14 singles titles in a single month.

Reflecting on her accomplishment, Grade 7 student Aanya Biswas of Orchids The International School said, “Winning three U-14 titles in one month feels unreal. I’m still letting it sink in. Every tournament was unique, and every match challenged me to put in more effort and maintain my focus, particularly the Guwahati singles final, which was the most difficult one I’ve yet to face. I had to put in all of my mental and physical energy during the more than three hours that it lasted. Without my parents, teachers, and coaches’ unwavering support, none of this would have been possible. I’m appreciative of Orchids The International School for supporting me in striking a balance between academics and athletics”.

After a gruelling three hours and ten minutes of intense competition, Aanya defeated her opponent 7-5, 4-6, 6-2 in the Guwahati singles final. She partnered with an unseeded opponent in the doubles draw, and the two of them showed incredible coordination and tenacity to win each match and the title. The Newtown campus in Kolkata is still a shining example of excellence, producing young achievers like Aanya who exemplify the school’s mission to develop self-assured, globally minded individuals.
