Since young people are our future, it is our highest responsibility to protect them from the dangers that technology and other negative social trends are causing them to face. Bobby Chakraborty, a well-known actor, activist, and method acting instructor from Kolkata, India, has been doing just that since 2012 with his widely recognised, free preventive awareness program, “I AM THE KING OF MY MIND”.

Through engaging social experiments and eye-opening real-life accounts of young lives lost and destroyed due to the aforementioned social evils, this engaging and enjoyable adda session seeks to empower the kids to fight against smoking, alcoholism, smartphone addiction, abusive language, gambling through online games, bullying, and online obscenity, among other things.

With the enthusiastic support of the socially conscious school administration and the enterprising principal Joyita Majumder, Bobby conducted his 458th life-changing anti-addiction campaign, making it a memorable day for the Grades 7–11 students at Delhi Public School, Barasat.

With the help of Soldier Ayush Jaiswal (VII), who was also given the crucial ceremonial title of “The 1st Soldier”, and a very diligent and disciplined Soldier Aishik Biswas (X) served as the session’s official photographer. “The Trendsetter” was the other significant title awarded to Soldier Rudrakshi Dey (VII). In addition to Aishik, the winners of the final surprise contest were Soldiers Aarav Singh (VIII), Indiresh Choubey (IX), and Prisha Sarkar (VII). Bobby presented them with community service certificates, special prizes, and HCF (Health-Career-Family) t-shirts.

The teachers were in awe of this scene, as the younger generation is quickly forgetting our priceless Indian tradition of respecting elders. The session concluded with nearly every student, beginning with soldier Aishik, touching Bobby’s feet for his blessings before they left the auditorium.
