Techno India University, in partnership with NoScope Gaming, will host the University Esports Championship (UEC) 2025 National Finals, the most anticipated collegiate esports event, for the first time in Eastern India at Techno India University, Kolkata, from August 3rd to August 5th, 2025. This event will be a groundbreaking celebration of digital innovation, youth culture, and competitive excellence.

The largest university-level esports competition in India is the University Esports Championship (UEC). UEC is currently in its second season and is the only collegiate tournament in India that is available on all major platforms: PC, console, mobile, and virtual reality.

The announcement was made in the presence of Mr. Meghdut Roy Chowdhury, Chief Innovation Officer, Techno India University, and Mr. Abhinandan Mukherjee, Project Head, NoScope Gaming Pvt Ltd.

With a huge prize pool of Rs 7 lakh up for grabs, the top 16 teams have earned their spot in the finals in Kolkata after more than 20,000 student gamers from all over the nation competed in the qualifiers held in 12 cities. The teams competed on PC, console, mobile, and virtual reality platforms. In addition to identifying the best esports players in the country, the UEC platform aims to foster a sense of competition among colleges, find up-and-coming talent, and develop a pool of players who could represent India internationally.

This year’s main event is the World Tennis Esports Championship (WTEC) in VR, which will also take place during the National Finals. With a $100,000 prize and full travel and lodging reimbursement, the top tennis esports athlete from India will have the opportunity to represent Team India at the WTEC Global Finals in Las Vegas, USA, on September 10, 2025.
