Under the guidance of ILEAD, one of Eastern India’s top institutes for leadership, entrepreneurship, and development, the 75-year-old Sripat Singh College, a historic institution in the center of Murshidabad, is undergoing a remarkable transformation.

Outdated curricula are being replaced by industry-relevant, job-oriented courses at the college to better prepare students for the workforce and meet the demands of a changing world. Under the direction of Professor Rajib Doogar of Seattle, a member of the Jiaganj Barakothy Doogar (Dugar) family, who founded Sripat Singh College, Rani Dhanna Kumari College, and the renowned Kathgola Gardens, the Doogar Family Foundation is kindly providing support for this transformative change.

The Doogar Family Foundation is funding and supervising a wide range of improvements to the college’s infrastructure, which include:

Renovating current facilities

Extra facilities in hostels

Modernization of laboratories and classrooms

Improvements to the common areas, restrooms, and football field

The objective is clear: to build a dynamic, contemporary campus that can accommodate more than 1,000 residential students and 3,000+ learners across disciplines. This includes everything from cutting-edge computer labs and smart classrooms to recently renovated dorms and sports facilities.

With these modifications, Sripat Singh College hopes to establish itself as a regional center of higher learning, drawing students from Bengal and Eastern India as well as possibly from other parts of the country and its neighbors.
