An Excellent Rath Yatra Of Kidderpore Jagannath Mandir

With opulence, devotion, and colorful cultural celebrations, the Kidderpore Jagannath Mandir commemorated the auspicious occasion of Rath Yatra 2025. The festivities started on June 27 with the Rath Yatra procession, a vibrant and religious roadshow that traveled from the Jagannath Temple in Kidderpore to Northern Park in Bhawanipur, where the gods will be housed until July 5.
The traditional Chhera Pahanra ceremony, performed with reverence by BMW Industries Ltd. Chairman Shri Ram Gopal Bansal, was the procession’s high point. This ancient custom represents service to the divine and humility.
Under the sponsorship of the Government of West Bengal and the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, a troupe sponsored by the EZCC performed the rhythmic Ghanta-Shankh Badan and devotional Kirtan Mandalis to accompany the grand procession. Both devotees and onlookers were captivated by these cultural performances, which brought the event’s spiritual significance to life.
One of Hinduism’s most revered festivals, Rath Yatra, honors Lord Jagannath’s yearly pilgrimage to his aunt’s home and represents spiritual unity, inclusivity, and divine love. This festive occasion demonstrated a deep dedication to conserving cultural heritage and encouraging a sense of group devotion. The gathering confirmed Kolkata’s rich spiritual and cultural traditions by drawing a sizable number of participants and devotees from all over the city and beyond.
