Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (also known as “Z”) announces the launch of Zee WRITERS ROOM, a historic program designed to find and develop up-and-coming screenplay talent nationwide. Zee WRITERS ROOM is a creative initiative that is in line with the company’s brand philosophy, “Yours Truly, Z”, and aims to improve its content offering across platforms. It is more than just a talent hunt. By giving chosen writers the chance to create stories for ‘Z’s vast TV, digital, and cinema platforms, the program hopes to close the gap between the untapped storytelling potential and the professional world of screenwriting at a time when new viewpoints are highly sought after.

The program, which is led by Z’s central content and regional teams, aims to link undiscovered talent with the changing demands of India’s entertainment industry. An exciting and captivating marketing film in seven Indian languages was used to promote the Zee writers ROOM initiative, which embodies the single goal of “opening the doorway of opportunities to the writers of tomorrow – STORIES. SCRIPTS. SCREENS”.

Zee WRITERS ROOM is curated for writers who already have a creative spark, whether they are self-taught or have received formal training. It accepts talent that hasn’t yet gained traction in the industry but has shown promise in college festivals, writing clubs, or online platforms. The goal of this program is to develop and elevate young authors into professionally prepared screenwriters, not to teach them the fundamentals of writing.

Every participant must go through:
A reading committee selects the top 10% of submissions based on their writing ability. Finalists are evaluated by an industry panel during the interview process. Registered participants attend a selection event and take a test.

The top 100 will be welcomed into the Zee WRITERS ROOM, where they will work with professionals to generate narrative ideas.
