In collaboration with the Merlin Group, the Yuvraj Singh Centres of Excellence (YSCE) successfully wrapped up their week-long High-Performance Summer Clinic from July 20 to July 26, 2025, at the YSCE High-Performance Centre, Club Pavilion, Merlin Rise, Rajarhat, Kolkata.

Young cricket players from Kolkata and Northeast India were successfully brought together for a thorough training program by the clinic. Four main aspects were the emphasis of the week-long program: mental conditioning, fitness growth, match readiness, and technical improvement.

YSCE-certified coaches led all training sessions, using structured modules designed to accommodate different age groups and ability levels. Each participant received teaching that was suited for their growth stage and present ability, thanks to this methodical approach.

A competitive selection procedure was used at the summer clinic to find exceptional individuals in a range of age groups. The Merlin Group recognized the chosen kids’ potential and dedication to cricket excellence by kindly offering them one-year scholarships.

The scholarship recipients are as follows:

Boys Recipients: Gurudev Singh- (age 15, Kolkata )(Group A), Agnish Adak-(age 8, Kolkata (Group B)

Girls Recipients (Special Scholarships): Sunita Behra (age 15, Odisha), Affifa Zahra (age 10, Kolkata), Ayuti Dutta (age 15, Kolkata)

These scholarships will give these young cricket players ongoing access to top-notch training and development opportunities, and they constitute a substantial investment in the future of cricket development in the area.

One of the week’s highlights was an exclusive live conversation with Yuvraj Singh, the founder of YSCE and an international cricket player. Speaking to the attendees, Singh said, “Your mindset dictates how far you can go, but your skill can get you there. Long-term success is defined by traits like hunger, discipline, and a willingness to learn, all of which were demonstrated by the players I dealt with this week. Sharing my experience and witnessing the development of the next generation was an honor”.

During the July 26 closing ceremony, exceptional performers from several important fields were honored. In addition to technical proficiency, awards were given for attitude, growth, and general involvement.

The High-Performance Summer Clinic is another significant step in YSCE’s continuous mission to provide top-tier development opportunities for up-and-coming cricket players throughout India.
