Hulladek Leads The Way In Great Sustainable Waste Management

At The Lalit Great Eastern in Kolkata, Hulladek organized a unique awareness event called “Responsible E-Waste Management for the Hospitality Sector” in partnership with the National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) as the Eco-System Partner.
Senior leaders from top hotels, eateries, and cafes attended the event to discuss the pressing need for urban India to dispose of e-waste methodically. The seminar emphasized the significance of official recycling, adherence to the E-trash Management Rules 2022, and compliance duties for bulk customers, given that the hospitality sector generates substantial volumes of electronic trash, a large portion of which ends up in the informal recycling chain.
The program carries on the goal of Hulladek’s founder, the late Mr. Nandan Mall, who saw India as a country where people properly dispose of their electronic waste.
“We firmly believe Kolkata can become a model city in India in terms of environmentally responsible waste disposal if our hospitality leaders lead from the front”, said Sakuntala Chanda, Proprietor, SERC.
FACES President Mr. Imran Zaki said, “This program is about civic conscience, not only trash. Hotels and restaurants have a lot of influence. Residents will follow if they formally embrace recycling e-waste”.

Ms. Priyasha Singhania, a sustainability champion and senior leadership team member at Hulladek, gave a keynote talk. She outlined doable actions that hotels and restaurants may take right now and streamlined policy requirements.
The objective was further enhanced by the inclusion of NRAI Kolkata as an ecosystem partner, which made it possible for the industry to embrace sustainable e-waste methods on a larger scale.
