Great Blend of Fashion & Responsibility At The Conscious Catwalk

As The Conscious Catwalk took over the Lake Club in Kolkata, fashion and responsibility collided. It was more than simply a fashion show. It was a movement that embraced creativity and sent a powerful message: fashion should never come at the expense of the planet’s equilibrium.
The event was curated by Akashlinaa Banerrjee (Founder & Designer, Boho Trunk) and Shreshtha Ganguly (Founder, Kkhubii; Film Director & Art & Culture Enthusiast).

Akashlinaa Banerrjee said, “Although fashion is a way for us to express who we are, it must come at the expense of our global identity. Our goal with The Conscious Catwalk was to demonstrate that sustainability and style can coexist, producing beauty that uplifts rather than exploits. Our goal at Boho Trunk has always been to reinvent fashion as a vehicle for environmental protection, cultural preservation, and artisan assistance. We think that fashion is about more than simply what you wear; it’s also about the message it conveys and the weight it bears. We can tell that our campaign is already having an impact if even one person is motivated to make a more thoughtful decision by every runway step”.
The show displayed collections that were eco-conscious, upcycled, and artisan-crafted.
It featured creations by John Sengupta (HOD, NIF), Akashlinaa Banerrjee (Boho Trunkk), Sharanya Sengupta (Senior Faculty, NIF), Needle Story, and Seona—a Dubai-based label championing sustainability. Each of these designers contributed their own take on mindful fashion, demonstrating how innovation and ecological consciousness can coexist while fusing creativity and accountability.

The fashion show featured popular names like actor Sean Banerjee, actress Richa Sharma, model Malav P Ghosh, actor Syed Arefin, and many more.
Eminent models also walked the ramp. Their participation reinforced the idea that conscientious fashion belongs on the biggest platforms while also adding a dash of glitz. By supporting the cause, these models and celebrities helped spread the word that sustainability is the way of the future, not a sacrifice on style.
The Conscious Catwalk was more than simply a runway performance. It was a message and a reminder that fashion can be both attractive and responsible.
