Great Participation At The 8th Annual Congress Of INMA
The 8th Annual Congress of the Indian Neurogastroenterology and Motility Association (INMA) took place at the Novotel Kolkata.
The theme of the two-day conference was GI Mobility: Practice, Research and Innovation.
Doctors from the USA, Britain, Australia, Malaysia, and other countries attended the conference.
The conference saw the attendance of 300 doctors from different parts of the country.
The doctors discussed the different stomach ailments and how new techniques are coming up to treat these stomach issues. Are stomach problems the next pandemic? Is gas the main thing that leads to other problems in our bodies?
With so many patients in India suffering from stomach issues, the number of doctors available to treat them is only 3500. The machines often used for diagnosis are backdated. Many doctors felt that the stomach problems often remain undiagnosed.
Prof Uday C Ghoshal showcased two AI devices at the workshop. These two devices will change the scenario of treating stomach ailments.
Prof Ghoshal also said that taking pills indiscriminately for stomach problems is not a good thing. Often, it leads to developing more problems rather than solving the problem at hand. Instead, consulting a doctor and getting the right treatment helps in curbing the problem at its roots.
With interactive discussions and workshops, the doctors focused more on newer ways of treating different kinds of stomach problems.
