A Special Mental Health Awareness Session At Witty International School

More than 120 students in Grades 8–10 attended a special session held by Witty International School in Malad to commemorate World Mental Health Day. The program gave students a free forum to consider their feelings and take part in insightful conversations about wellbeing.
Ms. Aparna Verma, the founder of Yellow and Blue Counselling Practice, led the session. She has over 20 years of expertise in wellness programs and mental health counseling in Singapore and India. The event, which aimed to increase awareness of emotional well-being, gave students basic, useful tools to manage stress and develop resilience while also assisting them in identifying prevalent mental health issues. Following a 30-minute presentation on important facets of mental health and emotional equilibrium, students participated in a 60-minute Fireside Chat during which they had candid conversations about topics like stress, anxiety, low self-esteem, academic pressures, peer pressure, social media, and lifestyle modifications.
“Seeing educational institutions like Witty International School prioritize mental wellness is encouraging. We are contributing to the development of a generation that is self-aware, resilient, and sympathetic by establishing safe spaces where kids may freely discuss their emotions and look for support”, said Ms. Aparna Verma.
“Our goal extends beyond scholarly pursuits. Students gain empathy, confidence, and an understanding of their emotions through sessions such as these. Additionally, they learn how to foster a supportive school environment and assist their peers. In order for each student to succeed in school and in life, we want them to feel protected, heard, and appreciated. These kinds of programs strengthen our dedication to their whole development, not just their academic achievement,” said Ms. Sonia Rana, Principal of Witty International School in Malad.
Through programs like this, Witty International School reaffirms its dedication to a well-rounded education, making sure that students are not just capable academically but also emotionally intelligent, socially conscious, and prepared to handle life’s obstacles with poise and compassion.
