At the Mukhyamantri Janseva Sadan, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta recently met with the cast and crew of the movie Kantara Chapter 1, which includes actor-director Rishab Shetty. The gathering focused on Indian cinema’s expanding cultural influence and its ability to capture and conserve the country’s rich spiritual and traditional legacy.

Rekha Gupta, the chief minister of Delhi, posted a picture of the crew on her official social media account and said she loved the movie. She wrote, “Today at the Mukhyamantri Janseva Sadan, I met Rishab Shetty, the actor and director of Kantara Chapter 1, together with his team. The film vividly captures the spirit of our customs while exquisitely capturing India’s spiritual depth and cultural diversity. The spirit of our past is proudly carried to the world stage by works such as Kantara. I’m wishing the whole crew the best of luck on this incredible cinematic adventure”.

Kantara: Chapter 1 delves into the sacred origins of the ethereal land of Kantara, set in the fourth century AD. Its rich mythology, ancient wars, and heavenly interventions are explored in depth in this chapter, which weaves a tale of faith, fire, and folklore that was created from the land’s own soil.

The film features Rishab Shetty, Sapthami Gowda, Gulshan Devaiah, Rukmini Vasanth, Jayaram, PD Satish Chandra, Prakash Thuminad, and others.

Kantara: Chapter 1 is written, directed, and headlined by Rishab Shetty, and the film is produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner of Hombale Films.

The film features cinematography by Arvind S. Kashyap and music by B. Ajaneesh Loknath, both of whom were instrumental in creating the magical world of the original.

Kantara: Chapter 1 released worldwide on October 2, 2025.
