More than 60 international buyers from top global companies will attend the AILPA 2025 international B2B fair, which is also organized by ILPA, and the fashion show will be a major highlight of the event.

The fashion show this year will feature cutting-edge designs, eco-friendly clothing, and the utilization of cutting-edge materials like rattan and fabrics. On the ramp, renowned designer Tejas Gandhi will showcase his most recent designs, while nine upscale exporters from Kolkata, the center of India’s leather goods sector, will showcase their unique collections.

The industry’s dedication to innovation and ethical production will be reflected in the 2025 edition’s eco-leather, sustainable fashion, and premium partnerships. In addition to honoring artistry and workmanship, Leather on the Ramp 2025 will promote Indian leather goods as innovative and competitive on a worldwide scale.

The AILPA event, which will take place at the Biswa Bangla Exhibition Centre from October 28 to 30, will feature live demonstrations, interactive seminars, and panel discussions with professionals in the field, in addition to the fashion show. It is anticipated that these sessions would showcase the future of the leather and fashion industries and provide chances for knowledge sharing.

In an effort to upskill young people and fortify the workforce in the leather industry, ILPA has also started new skill development and vocational training initiatives. In order to foster technology transfer, knowledge sharing, and capacity building, the association has partnered with both domestic and international organizations. As one of the biggest leather trade associations in India, ILPA continues to play a crucial role in representing more than 200 manufacturers, exporters, and industry stakeholders.

It is anticipated that ILPA members will contribute a sizeable portion of premium leather goods, since the Indian leather export industry is forecast to reach USD 6 billion in 2025–2026. Strong domestic and international demand is expected to drive thousands of new job opportunities in the manufacturing, design, retail, and export sectors, according to the association.

This year’s fashion show, according to ILPA office bearers, will showcase luxury goods, tech-integrated fashion trends, and sustainable leather. It will also promote the organization’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities, which include youth training, eco-friendly leather projects, and community participation initiatives.

ILPA President Arjun Mukund Kulkarni said, “Leather on the Ramp is a celebration of India’s changing leather history, not merely a fashion show. While making significant investments in environmentally friendly production and innovative design, our members have increased their exports to important markets in North America and Europe in recent years. This year, we want to show how India’s leather industry can combine sustainability and flair. We are giving the next generation the knowledge and tools they need to establish India as a top global source for high-end leather goods through our new training programs and international alliances”.

In addition to enhancing India’s leather sector internationally, the forthcoming event is expected to be a spectacular celebration of the nation’s inventiveness and workmanship,” said Akash Nayyar, Chairman of the ILPA Fashion Show Committee.

Through global partnerships, prominent marketing, and innovative design demonstrations, Leather on the Ramp 2025 seeks to further ILPA’s goal of making the program a worldwide brand. In addition to showcasing India’s inventiveness and workmanship, the forthcoming event is expected to boost the nation’s leather sector internationally.
