The “Blood Club Education Conclave”, held by the HCG Cancer Centre in Kolkata, provided a platform for presenting the most recent developments in blood cancer treatment. It brought together well-known hemato-oncology experts, bone marrow transplant (BMT) doctors, and survivors, establishing a forum for discussion, raising awareness, and gaining insight into the quickly changing therapeutic landscape in cancer therapy.

Mr. Gurvinder Singh, Chief Operating Officer, HCG EKO Cancer Centre, Kolkata, Dr. Joydeep Chakraborty, HOD & Senior Consultant – Haemato Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant, HCG Cancer Centre, Kolkata, Dr. Prasanta Chowdhury, Director, Life Cord, and others graced the event.

The conclave began with a speech to the media, which was followed by a thought-provoking panel discussion with prominent outside experts and top physicians from the HCG Cancer Centre’s Haemato-Onco& BMT department. With a focus on multidisciplinary teamwork and patient-centric treatment, the conclave’s discussions aimed to increase clinical awareness, promote collaborative learning, and improve understanding of changing blood cancer management techniques.

The introduction of cutting-edge treatment methods, such as CliniMACS and CAR-T cell therapy, was one of the conclave’s main highlights. Experts discussed how these cutting-edge treatments are improving results by giving patients with complicated blood problems more accurate, individualized, and efficient treatment alternatives.

The presence of blood cancer survivors, who recounted their personal recovery stories and emphasized the significance of prompt diagnosis and access to cutting-edge treatment, was another captivating feature of the conclave. Three patients presented their experiences; one survivor from Kolkata was present in person, and survivors from Mumbai and Myanmar participated digitally via video link, giving the scientific conversations a compelling personal element.

To facilitate meaningful interaction between physicians, the media, and important stakeholders, the Blood Club Education Conclave ended with an engaging networking event over dinner and beverages. The program underlined HCG’s commitment to patient-centered outcomes, innovation-driven care, and ongoing physician education in the treatment of blood cancer.
