In Chapter 2, the only retro dining establishment in Kolkata organized a festive Christmas event with the Carolzingers and veteran vocalist Sumit Roy, often referred to as the King of Calypso music in Kolkata. Over 100 kids danced, sang along, and soaked up the holiday spirit during this annual celebration, now in its seventh year. It turned the entire lane into a festive wonderland.

A delightful repertoire of well-known Christmas carols, such as Little Drummer Boy, Santa Claus Is Coming in a Boogie Woogie Chu Chu Train, Silver Bells, Mary’s Boy Child, Santa Claus Is Coming to Town, Feliz Navidad, Rudolph, Jingle Bells (with an original Bengali translation), and Jingle Bell Rock, brought the morning to life. Ki Moja Christmas, a lesser-known Bengali Christmas song, particularly won people over with its poignant melody and lyrics.

“Chapter 2 has been celebrating Christmas morning for the past five years. Residents from the Southern Avenue neighborhood gather every year to enjoy the live carol performances, which have become a cherished neighborhood tradition over the years. The celebration is intended to bring the community together, with food and gifts also arranged for the children,” said Mr. Shiladitya Chaudhury and Mr. Debaditya Chaudhury, Founders, Chapter 2.

The occasion signaled a cheerful and melodic start to Christmas morning. The live performance, which genuinely brought joy and welcomed the season of celebration, was well-appreciated by all.
