The Global One Championship, the first-ever multi-sport interschool competition organized by Global Schools Group, brought together more than 800 students from all over India, representing more than 25 schools, for three days of intense competition and teamwork. Students from Global Indian International School (GIIS), One World International School (OWIS), Witty International School, and Glendale participated in the Bengaluru event, exhibiting outstanding sportsmanship, collaboration, and competitive spirit.

Eight sports—athletics, badminton, basketball, chess, cricket, football, swimming, and table tennis—were included in the competition. Both boys and girls participated in the under-14 and under-17 divisions, with cricket being played only by boys. Families in India were able to see the action in real time thanks to the live streaming of every event.

OWIS Sarjapur hosted the Opening Ceremony, which created a cheerful and upbeat atmosphere for the coming days. In order to honor the outstanding performances and emphasize the values of fair play and discipline that characterized this year’s championship, students, coaches, and school administrators gathered at GIIS Whitefield for a Closing Ceremony and prize distribution on the fourth day of the three-day competitive sporting events. Students from outside Bengaluru had the chance to explore the city’s attractions and culture during the tournament’s dedicated sightseeing day.

GIIS Whitefield won the title of “Number 1 Sports School” for 2025; OWIS Sarjapur and GIIS Ahmedabad came in second and third, respectively. GIIS Whitefield was a formidable force in individual sports, taking first place in football, table tennis, badminton, cricket, and athletics. GIIS Ahmedabad and OWIS Sarjapur shared first place in chess, while OWIS Sarjapur took first place in basketball and swimming.

Global Schools Group’s main sporting event, the Global One Championship, fosters character development, teamwork, and physical fitness. It supports the idea that education extends beyond the classroom and that athletic experiences are crucial in developing self-assured, well-rounded people.
