A Beautiful Start To The New Year With The All India Rose Show

With the Bengal Rose Society holding the 42nd Indian Rose Convention and All India Rose Show from January 3 to 5 at Lions Safari Park, Kolkata has become a national hub for floriculture.
The esteemed event, which is being held under the auspices of the Indian Rose Federation, is showcasing Bengal’s historical and current leadership in rose breeding, cultivation, and display standards in India.

Over 250 attendees, including renowned rosarians, breeders, horticulturists, researchers, and floriculture specialists from across the nation, are attending the three-day national convention.

The inaugural event was graced by noted personalities such as Dr. Narendra Dadlani, President, Bengal Rose Society, Mr. Sushil Prakash, President, World Federation of Rose Societies, Mrs. Sanyogita Dhanwatey, President, Indian Rose Federation, and Mr. Sanjay Mukherji, Jt. IRC Convener, Mrs. Girija Viraraghavan, globally acclaimed rosarian, and Mr. Ashok Mehta, Chairman, Lions Safari Park.

In India’s expanding floriculture industry, this is providing an important forum for knowledge sharing, teamwork, and the promotion of best practices.
The All India Rose Show, which features almost 2,500 cut rose exhibits from top growers from various parts of India, is a major draw of the current Convention.

With almost 700 potted rose displays on show, Bengal’s unique quality in pot-grown roses continues to garner special notice.
A few of the entrants have more than 100 flowers per pot, demonstrating sophisticated horticultural techniques, specialized growing media, and advanced cultivation methods that have come to define the area.

A group of well-known rose specialists from around the nation is assessing the exhibits.
Expert-led technical sessions on innovation, sustainability, and upcoming floricultural trends are also on offer at the Convention.

India’s plan to host the 21st World Rose Convention in Bhopal in 2028 is outlined in a special presentation.

The Bengal Rose Annual and other special publications’ release highlights the Convention’s significance as a major information and networking center for India’s floriculture industry.
