Grand Success Of The 2nd SOBA Presidents’ Conclave

The Second Edition of the Scindia School Old Boys’ Association’s (SOBA) Presidents’ Conclave was held in Kolkata, bringing together presidents and senior representatives from all across India and abroad. A significant turning point in SOBA’s 66-year history, the conclave reaffirmed the ongoing significance of alumni leadership in bolstering one of India’s most illustrious educational institutions and highlighted a shared commitment to institutional stewardship.
The official alumni association of the 128-year-old Scindia School is called SOBA. SOBA is one of the most active and service-oriented school alumni networks in the nation, with over 7,000 registered alumni and 33 chapters in India and abroad, including the US, Canada, the UK, Europe, Australia, Singapore, and Dubai.
The conclave’s discussions centered on India’s educational policy, developing future leaders, and long-term plans to assist the school’s institutional and academic development. In keeping with its long-standing dedication to experiential, inquiry-driven, and science-led learning, the panel revealed that SOBA is leading a historic project to build a planetarium at The Scindia School.
The conclave also highlighted the distinguished alumni, which include Mr. Vikram Misri, Foreign Secretary, Government of India; Mr. Rajendra S. Pawar, Padma Bhushan awardee and Founder Chairman of NIIT Ltd.; Mr. Salman Khan; Mr. Ashok Gajapathi Raju; and filmmaker Mr. Anurag Kashyap, among others.

The Scindia School continues to develop moral, worldly-minded individuals under the direction of its Board, which is headed by HH Maharaja Jyotiraditya Scindia. Tucked away in the ancient Gwalior Fort, the School’s unique customs—like Astachal, the daily practice of meditation and introspection—remain essential to its philosophy and serve to unite generations of Scindians. The Scindia School Old Boys’ Association’s initiatives, which include scholarships for worthy students, medical and educational support, blood drives, eye check-up camps, wheelchair donations at train stations, and national organ donation advocacy, all reflect this philosophy of service before self.
SOBA continues to uphold the history of The Scindia School while making significant contributions to education, business, culture, and society via consistent involvement and accountable alumni leadership.
