As part of its continued commitment to encouraging safer two-wheeler travel, the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) completed a significant road safety campaign in Kolkata, where 1,000 helmets were given to recipients.

One of the city’s most significant north-south arterial routes, 247 Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose Road, Bhowanipore, Kolkata, is home to the Police Training Centre in Alipore, a long-standing institutional complex.

This program is in line with a number of national road safety initiatives, where helmet distribution drives have been essential in encouraging improved riding habits and lowering avoidable head injuries among commuters—a result seen in campaigns of a similar nature throughout India.

Mr. Rohit Chowdhury, State Chairperson, FADA West Bengal, said, “FADA is still fully committed to fostering a culture of road safety throughout our state. We sought to directly address one of the most important gaps in two-wheeler safety by giving 1,000 helmets. In addition to being protective equipment, a helmet can save lives. We will keep advocating for programs that protect riders and lower preventable traffic accidents, and we are appreciative of our partners and the West Bengal Police Department for their support of this crucial endeavour”.

FADA reaffirmed that its goal of creating safer roads for everyone is still centered on community involvement, enforcement assistance, and ongoing awareness.
