New Bengali Film Onekdin Por- A Heartfelt Tribute To Parents

The cinematic landscape is set to be enriched by a deeply moving narrative as the film Onekdin Por prepares for its highly anticipated theatrical release on 26 June 2026. This film serves as a heartfelt tribute to parents, delicately weaving a story filled with love, profound emotions, and cherished memories. It explores the many unspoken moments that quietly, yet significantly, shape our lives and the complex dynamics of our relationships.
The journey toward this release was highlighted by a star-studded music launch, which was graced by the film’s dedicated cast and crew. The event was further elevated by the presence of esteemed special guests, renowned director Srijit Mukherji and iconic actor Prosenjit Chatterjee, both of whom celebrated the upcoming project.

Srijit Mukherji said, “I have watched Chitrangada’s acting in Main Actor Nahin Hoon, and I must say she is one of the best actresses in India now. However, in Bengal, she is not paid much attention. I am glad she got her due with this film. Apart from her, the other actors have also done a commendable job, as is evident from the trailer”.
At the helm of this poignant production is director Saurav Palodhi. The film is produced by Nideas Productions and is presented by Prosenjit Chatterjee, ensuring a high-quality cinematic experience. The soul of the film is elevated by its music, which has been composed by the talented Saptak Sanai Das.

The emotional core of Onekdin Por is brought to life by a stellar ensemble cast. The film features performances by Chitrangada Shatarup, Bimal Giri, Doriyaa Das Palodhi, Debesh Roy Chowdhury, Buddhadev Das, Biplab Bandyopadhyay, Swati Mukherjee, Sima Mukherjee, Bimal Chakraborty, Senjuti Mukherjee, Deepak Halder, Sanjita, Subhankar Ghatak, and Suparna Das.
Chitrangada said, “I was so surprised when the director gave me a call to cast me in his film. I did not know him personally, nor have I ever approached him for work. So it was surprising that he wanted to cast me. He then said that he had seen my play Colourblind, which was staged in 2013. And he remembered that, and now he wanted to cast me after so many years. This made me realize that one must do their job with sincerity, and good opportunities will come to them”.

The subtitles have been done by Sudeshna Roy. “I am the only one who has watched the film many times. To write the subtitles, I have watched the film, and I must say that the film will give many of us a purpose in our lives. It is a well-made film and can be watched with your friends, family, and even alone”.

Onekdin Por stands as a touching story that celebrates the enduring strength of family bonds and the quiet emotions that often remain unsaid. As it prepares to reach audiences in cinemas on 26 June 2026, it promises to be a resonant experience for viewers who value stories deeply rooted in love and human connection. With its talented team and emotional depth, the film is poised to leave a lasting impression on all who watch it.
