One of the top jewelry merchants in the world, Malabar Group, held Children’s Day events at its 1531 Micro Learning Centres (MLCs) throughout India. Senior representatives and local dignitaries led the festivities for 60,000 kids who were assisted by the centers throughout the network of MLCs. Sweets were distributed at the start of the programs, which set the tone for a day devoted to education, inclusivity, and compassion.

The MLCs assist disadvantaged youngsters who were compelled to work or drop out of school as a result of social and financial difficulties. Each center assists kids in returning to formal education while offering a year of age-appropriate primary education.

Participants in the ceremonies at the centers included Malabar Group teams, parents, local leaders, and representatives from the police and health departments. Children participated in educational exercises and interactive sessions aimed at fostering involvement and boosting self-confidence.

To assist youngsters learn with more focus, the centers also offer nutrition support, including milk, fruits, and eggs, as part of the daily routine. Teachers are qualified graduates from nearby areas, with one teacher for every forty students. Through these centers, around 30,000 youngsters have returned to formal education thus far.

Over 356 crore rupees have been invested by the Group in social welfare initiatives. More than seventeen lakh individuals have benefited from these activities. Women’s empowerment, healthcare assistance, educational scholarships for girls, and the Grandma Home program—which offers care and shelter to senior women—are important areas of attention.

The centres operate under the Group’s Hunger Free World initiative, which distributes one lakh five thousand food packets daily in India and also supports communities in Zambia and Ethiopia.
