The much-anticipated second season of the Bengal Pro T20 League has been formally announced by the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB). After its first edition was a huge success, the 2025 tournament is expected to be even bigger, more exciting, and more inclusive. The league begins shortly after the 2025 Indian Premier League, with the women’s competition taking place from June 12 to June 28 and the men’s league starting on June 11 and ending with a grand final on June 28.

Known as Bengal’s own IPL, the Bengal T20 Pro League is a fierce franchise competition that features the best domestic cricket players in both the men’s and women’s divisions. With its combination of youth strength, local pride, and thrilling performances, it has swiftly become one of the state’s most anticipated athletic events.

As Chief Guest at the official jersey launch, well-known actor Trina Saha said, “I am a huge cricket fan and it is a moment of great pride for me to be a part of this prestigious Jersey launch. More than just a sports team, the Murshidabad Kings & Kueens stand for aspirations, self-control, and tenacity. I’m honoured to be a part of this inspirational journey that uses the love of cricket to empower both men and women”.

Tanusree Sarkar, the star player for the Murshidabad Kueens, was also in attendance and said she was looking forward to the event. One of the most reliable players in the domestic circuit, this rising star of Indian women’s cricket is an important all-rounder for Bengal and India A. Her rising prominence in Indian cricket is highlighted by her recent exploits, which include a dominant 153* in the multi-day format and game-winning contributions in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy.

The team is jointly owned by Yash Jain (Pritam Electrics) and Pratiik Jalan (Jalan Builders) under the auspices of JJ Sports. The men’s league champions, the Murshidabad Kings, are returning to defend their title. Following a strong first season as runners-up, the Murshidabad Kueens are redoubling their efforts to win the championship.

Under the direction of Sourav Sarkar and Probal Dutta, this season is expected to be more engaging than previous ones, featuring inspiring player journeys, match-day excitement, interactive fan contests, and behind-the-scenes content. The goal of Murshidabad Kings & Kueens is to connect, inspire, and lead with a purpose rather than merely compete.
