Abhisar- An Alluring Album Of Poetry Recitations Out Now

Love speaks in many ways. It shivers in expectation, it echoes in longing, it lingers in the absence. This Valentine’s Day, Bhavna Records presented a symphony of these feelings with Abhisar, an album of poetry recitations that brings six of Rabindranath Tagore‘s magnificent works to life.
More than just an album, Abhisar is a voyage through the landscapes of love, where passion meets poetry, where voices blend with verse, and where Tagore’s timeless words find a place in listeners’ hearts. It is voiced by the soul-stirring Roya Chowdhury and the eloquent Raja Das. On February 14, 2025, the album was available on the official YouTube channel of Bhavna Records as well as on popular international audio streaming services.
Every item in this collection is an independent world. When both musicians perform Sojasuji, it sounds like a private conversation, a verse duet of feelings. When Raja Das recites Abirbhav, it unfolds like a silent epiphany, a verbalized moment of self-discovery. While Krishnakoli, narrated by Raja Das, depicts a picture of beauty tinged with melancholy, Sadharon Meye, narrated by Roya Chowdhury, embodies the subdued strength and unspoken defiance of womanhood.
One of Tagore’s most profound female voices is brought back to life by Roya Chowdhury’s eerie narration of Strir Patra, a letter of love, loss, and ultimate liberation. The album’s namesake, Abhisar, follows, a journey travelled in silence, longing, and the unrelenting search for love.
For Raja Das, recording Abhisar was a profoundly personal experience. “Tagore’s words have a rhythm, and with every syllable, an emotion is revealed. Each poem in this collection tells a story, not only in terms of meaning but also in terms of how it is heard and felt. As we did when we recited these verses, I hope that listeners will recognize something in them” said Raja Das.
Abhisar is expected to be a poetic offering for the soul with its multi-layered, moving performances and Tagore’s timeless words.
