Professor Shanku re-launched the Time Machine at Science City in the august presence of the team of Bengali film Professor Shanku O El Dorado namely director Sandip Ray, Dhritiman Chatterjee (who plays Shanku), Subhasish Mukherjee (Nakur babu), Andrez Castilho, Eduardo Muniz and others.

The team of the Bengali film launched the Time Machine which had not been operating at Science City for quite some time now. The cast and crew members inaugurated the new machine and also took a ride in it.

The other star attraction was the Professor Shanku Sky Balloon. This is located inside Science City at a height of about 100 feet. The placing is such that it can be viewed by city travellers from different parts of Kolkata.  It will be lit up during the night for better viewing. The balloon is a tribute to Satyajit Ray’s master creation, Professor Trilokeshwar Shanku.

The Professor Shanku Lab Installations and Sky Balloon is the first of its kind to be introduced in Bengal for a Bengali film. This will indeed be a great attraction for the children and their families during the upcoming festive season.

Speaking at the event, Sandip Ray said “Professor Shanku inaugurating the time machine is a great thing indeed. There is also a story of Shanku revolving around time machine. As a film maker, I just hope that this film is loved and enjoyed by people of all age groups”.

The film maker also added that after experiencing the ride on the time machine, he might consider making a film on the story about the time machine involving Professor Shanku.

Dhritiman Chatterjee highlighted on the fact that the aim of the film and that of Science City is to promote scientific temper among the young minds of the country.

The film released on 20^th December both in Bengal and also nationally.
