Renowned for its dedication to sustainable urban development, Siddha Group hosted an enlightening talk show that tackled the pressing problem of urban wildlife encounters and forest land depletion. Renowned environmental specialists and conservationists convened at the event to talk about the growing effects of urbanisation on natural ecosystems and the expanding interface between humans and wildlife.

The discussion saw the presence of Mr. Sunil Limaye, IFS (Retd), Member of the Central Empowered Committee and Former Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, Government of Maharashtra, and Mr. Pradeep Vyas, IFS (Retd), Former Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, Government of West Bengal.

Renowned dancer Ms. Alokananda Roy joined the conversation, contributing a cultural viewpoint and emphasizing the mutually beneficial relationship between nature and human existence from an artistic and philosophical standpoint. At the talk show, Rituparna Sengupta, a National Award-winning actress, and Indraneil Sengupta, a well-known actor, both emphasized the value of conserving forest land for a more environmentally friendly future for humanity.

The Siddha Group’s director, Mr. Aayushman Jain, reiterated the organization’s dedication to raising environmental awareness via insightful dialogue and sustainable real estate practices. Mr. Jayanta Basu, a distinguished environment columnist and faculty member at Calcutta University’s Department of Environmental Science & Department of Journalism, expertly moderated the session.

The talk show explored several important topics, including the startling rate of forest loss, the effects of fast urbanization on biodiversity, and the steps needed to strike a balance between ecological preservation and urban growth. To reduce conflicts, experts also emphasised the necessity of responsible urban planning and real-world examples of interactions between people and wildlife.

The stimulating conversation encouraged participants to support a more sustainable and equitable future by highlighting the concrete measures that need to be taken to address these issues.
