Amazon India reaffirmed its dedication to developing talent and closing the ML skill gap in India by announcing the fifth edition of its flagship Machine Learning (ML) Summer School (MLSS). Three thousand of India’s most talented students, chosen through a qualifying exam, are expected to enroll in the 2025 edition. The program will start in August 2025, and registration will be available from July 21 to July 31, 2025. This immersive and free learning experience, offered virtually over four weekends, consists of eight expert-led modules covering fundamental subjects such as supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, generative artificial intelligence, LLMs, and more. Each session allows participants to gain a deeper understanding of fundamental machine learning topics through a live Q&A session with Amazon scientists.

Through a combination of practical instruction, real-world applications, and mentoring from Amazon’s top machine learning scientists, the program has trained nearly 10,000 students since its launch in 2021. After its success in India, the program was introduced in the EMEA region under the name “Amazon Science Campus” and expanded internationally to Australia in 2023. The needs of students in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa have been catered for in these international editions, which support Amazon’s long-term goal of developing future-ready talent in science and machine learning globally.

The program’s curriculum is accessible to students with varying degrees of machine learning expertise because it is in line with both industry trends and academic coursework. Students will graduate with strong foundations in machine learning applications, readying them for positions in the field.

Engineering students pursuing bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degrees from any accredited Indian institution who will graduate in 2026 or 2027 are eligible to apply. The top 3000 students will be granted admission to the ML Summer School after eligible students complete an assessment.

Amazon uses machine learning in many aspects of its operations, such as enhancing search result accuracy, customizing product recommendations, and streamlining delivery routes. Demand forecasting, fraud detection, language translation, Alexa’s speech recognition, and recommendation systems are just a few more applications that use machine learning, demonstrating the revolutionary potential of ML when used widely. Amazon India is continuing to invest in creating a diverse, future-ready workforce while motivating the upcoming generation of innovators and technologists with the fifth edition of ML Summer School.
