A digital press meet of the upcoming Bollywood film Toofan took place recently. The press meet was graced by director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Farhan Akhtar, and Mrunal Thakur.

Toofan narrates the story of a boxer Aziz Ali and the struggles he has to encounter on his journey to get to the national level championship.

Speaking at the press meet, Farhan said “I endeavor to entertain the audiences. Aziz Ali like most of us wants to be accepted for who he is. Boxing is a great metaphor for that. When you are in the boxing ring, you are alone and it is a great test of character. You have to stand up for yourself and also for those who trusted and believed in you. Aziz is fighting for himself and also for getting acceptance”.

After Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, this is Farhan’s second collaboration with the director. The actor felt that the audiences loved the sincerity, honesty of the efforts that were shown in the film. This was the challenge that they had to face while making Toofan.

“If you want to make the audiences remember your performance, you have to give it your all. Otherwise, people will enjoy it at the moment and that will not leave a long-lasting impression. Many still remember Bhaag Milkha Bhaag simply for the sincerity and hard work we all put into making the film” added the actor.

“Toofan is an entirely different sports drama. This is a story that you have not experienced before. Toofan is a riveting story and will inspire you. One can say that this is a story about life, relationships, conflicts, struggles, etc. The audiences will see them reflected themselves in the characters” said the director.

Paresh Rawal, Vijay Raaz, Mohan Agashe, Hussain Dalal, Darshan Kumar, and Supriya Pathak will be seen in other important roles in the film.
