Burdwan Health City- Focus To Transform Healthcare In East India

By combining top-notch facilities, medical education, and research, Burdwan Health City (BHC) has the potential to completely transform healthcare in Eastern India. BHC will serve the expanding healthcare needs of the area, thanks to its strategic location at the junction of the GT Road and NH 19 in Purba Burdwan.
Gracing the press meet were Prof. Sudhangsu Sekhar Chakraborty, Dr. Anish Banerjee, Advisor Healthcare, Dr. Sudeshna Barua, Medical Superintendent, and Shri Saikat Kumar, Investment Banker.
The Chairman and Managing Director of BHC, Prof. Sudhangsu Sekhar Chakraborty, stated, “Our goal is to establish a comprehensive healthcare ecosystem that fosters social and economic development in the area by offering high-quality, reasonably priced medical care”.
The Burdwan Development Authority (BDA) is supporting the project, which is being developed under a public-private partnership (PPP). Under the tagline “Health means Bengal Faith,” BHC seeks to advance the area’s social and economic advancement.
Bengal Faith Hospital, a super-specialty, NABH-accredited hospital, is currently operational and will soon be rebranded as “ASHALATA Hospital” as it expands to 420 beds. The hospital features advanced infrastructure with sustainable features, incorporating a green environment with renewable energy.
The hospital offers a comprehensive range of specialized departments, including cardiology, neurology, orthopedics, trauma, emergency, and critical care. A Mother & Child Care Unit (MCCU) is currently under construction.
Prof. Chakraborty is in discussions with investors to develop essential Health City components, including a medical college, dental college, nursing and para-medical institutes, wellness center, medical supply chain and logistics, and residences for doctors, nurses, and patient relatives.
Burdwan Health City is well-positioned to develop into a medical tourism destination, drawing patients from nearby regions, other states, and overseas, thanks to its cutting-edge medical facilities.
