As the most recent additions to the Sahityer Shera Somoy series, Aakash Aath, one of the well-known General Entertainment Channels (GEC), has introduced two new television shows: the mega serial Chatterjee Barir Meyera and Anupamar Prem. The literary genius of renowned Bengali writers Shri Saratchandra Chattopadhyay and Shri Samaresh Majumdar served as the inspiration for both series.

In her exploration of the Chatterjee family’s lives, Chatterjee Barir Meyera focuses on two powerful women: Ranjana, a housewife who is defying social expectations to forge a career for herself, and Titir, a young, ambitious actress. The show depicts the emotional journey, aspirations, and hardships of a middle-class family torn between traditional values and contemporary goals.

The plot of Chatterjee Barir Meyera by Samaresh Majumdar captures the spirit of contemporary society, where personal desires and generational tensions combine to create compelling stories. It is relatable and thought-provoking because each character contributes a distinct viewpoint.

Ms Sneha Deb and Ms Payel Dutta, play the characters of Titir and Ranjana.

Directed by Sushanta Basu, the serial also stars  Mousumi Saha, Debashis Raychowdhury, Bimal Giri, Asmita Mukherjee, Barnini Chakraborty and Shubhankar in prominent roles.

In contrast, the new series Anupamar Prem is a timeless story set in the late 19th century and is based on one of the most well-known novels written by the renowned novelist Shri Saratchandra Chattopadhyay. The path of Anupama, a young woman caught between love and social expectations, is shown by the story. A complicated love triangle featuring Anupama, her childhood fiancé Lalit, and Suresh, the man she loves, will be progressively brought to life in the show. Viewers will see a highly daring clash of emotions, customs, and individual goals as the story progresses.

Actors Beas Dhar, Arya Dasgupta, Raj Sen, Subhrajit Dutta, Moumita Dutta, Sumita Chatterjee, Priyanka Acharya, Nilotpal Banerjee, Kaushik Bhattacharya and others will be seen in the show.

The show is directed by Madan Gopal Sau.

The Mega serial Chatterjee Barir Meyera started airing on 18^th November 2025, every Monday to Saturday at 7:00 pm.

Sahityer Shera Somoy will present Anupamar Prem from 21^st November 2024, every Monday to Saturday at 7:30 pm.
