The trailer launch of Klikk’s new series, Detective Charulata, took place in the presence of the cast and crew of the film.

Charulata Mitra, a private investigator, and her cousin Topu are renowned for solving routine cases, but Charu feels that her skills could be used much more effectively. Soon after, Charu’s new hire, Maddy, offers this chance. A case follows Charu and Topu through a series of unexplained deaths, ultimately leading to a tragic event that occurred thirty years ago and served as the link between them all.

The series is directed by Joydip Banerjee.

Surangana Bandyopadhyay plays the role of Charulata Mitra in the series. “I am very grateful to the team of Klikk for selecting me for this character of Detective Charulata. Casting a young actress to play a detective is a big step, indeed. I had a great time shooting the series. It was an enriching experience. The director helped me to understand the character. I had to train well for the action sequences. I did not treat the character as a detective character but rather as a character that I had to play well. Hope I have done justice to it,” said the actress.

Chaiti Ghoshal (Mrs. Parama Sen), Debmalya Gupta (Topu), Anujoy Chattopadhyay (Arindam Laskar), Pamela Kanjilal (Maddy), Mallika Majumdar (Sidheswari Basu), and many more will be seen in the series.

The music was composed by Pranjal Das.
