Econova 2025– A Special Celebration Of Economics & Innovation

The Heritage College in Kolkata successfully organised Econova 2025, its flagship economics festival, on April 29th and 30th. The two-day event brought together students, academics, and thought leaders from across the region to exchange ideas about economics, innovation, and sustainability. To ensure the event’s success, approximately 50 colleges from Bengal participated.
Econova 2025 included a wide range of activities, such as paper presentations, panel discussions, quizzes, debates, and creative competitions, all focused on current economic issues and global challenges. The event provided a dynamic setting for students to demonstrate their analytical and creative abilities while networking with peers and professionals. Furthermore, Sidhu, the legendary rock band performer from Cactus Band, was present as a judge for the rock band competition at Econova, which was attended by students from various colleges.
The highlight of the fest was a keynote address by distinguished economist Dr. Saibal Kar, RBI Chair Professor of Industrial Economics, Centre for Studies in Social Sciences, Calcutta, Director (Hon.), Eastern Regional Centre, ICSSR, who spoke on “Economic Growth & Challenges before the Indian Economy”.

An erudite panel discussion was also organized on the same topic, which was addressed by Prof.(Dr.) Anup Sinha, Former Professor of Economics, IIM Calcutta, Chairman, Bandhan Bank & Chief Mentor, Heritage Business School, Kolkata, Dr. Ajitava RayChoudhuri, Professor Emeritus and Head, Department of Economics, Adamas University, Dr. Biswajit Mandal, Professor of Economics, Centre for Studies in Social Sciences Calcutta and Dr. Sahana Roy Chowdhury, Professor and Area Chair, Economics, International Management Institute (IMI), Kolkata.
Econova 2025 was more than just an event; it represented a movement of ideas, passion, and purpose.
The event concluded with an awards ceremony that recognised outstanding contributions and performances in the various competitions.
