Director Prosenjit Halder’s film Gouri throws light on the happenings around us. A mentally challenged pregnant woman is one of the pivotal characters in the film.

Speaking about the story, the director said, “I have been saddened from a young age after seeing mentally or physically challenged people on the roads. I saw, about ten years ago, a mentally challenged pregnant woman on the streets. I got emotional. And this is when the story of Gouri came to my mind. Apart from this character, other characters will showcase the different happenings in our society”.

The story of the film has been written by Prosenjit Halder. The screenplay and script are also by the director.

The music director of the film is Pritam Deb. Anupam Roy, Lagnajita Chakraborty, Mekhla Dasgupta, and Sourav Dey will lend their voices to the songs in the film.

The lyrics of the songs will be penned by Soham Majumder, Supratim Dey, and Sourav Dey.

The cast of the film consists of Paran Bandopadhyay, Chandan Sen, Aryann Bhowmik, Priyanka Bhattacharya, Sanjib Sarkar, Satakshi Nandy, and others.

The producers of the film are Pritilata Biswas, Pradip Dutta, and Lolita Biswas.

The film is slated for release in August.
