A large portion of the mainstream media once implied that Aradeep Chatterjee, a well-known figure in the field of cancer alternative therapies and an international corresponding member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), was a vicious liar based on accusations made by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate. Since then, the Competent Court of Law in our country has honorably cleared him of all allegations. His father, Dr. Ashim Kumar Chatterjee, a reputable homoeopathic physician, was honorably cleared of all charges after being named as a co-accused in all related criminal cases.

Aradeep’s run-in with the law began on June 29, 2017, when the Laketown Police Station filed two additional FIRs against him following the filing of a suo moto case. He was arrested on suspicion of making money illegally by treating cancer patients, and he was charged with several serious offenses. On August 23, 2017, the police also detained his father, Dr. Ashim Kumar Chatterjee, for allegedly giving Aradeep Chatterjee illegal aid. Additionally, on November 13, 2017, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed an ECIR based on the charge sheets of the police cases.

In November 2019, the ED filed a prosecution complaint under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) before the Learned Special ED Court of Bichar Bhawan, Kolkata, after seizing all of Aradeep Chatterjee’s assets and savings.

The advocates of Aradeep Chatterjee said, “Every accusation made against Aradeep Chatterjee and his father, Ashim Kumar Chatterjee, by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate was fabricated, motivated, baseless, and absurd. For this reason, the Learned Fast Track-I Court of Barasat, West Bengal, honorably cleared them of all police cases following drawn-out and demanding legal proceedings. Most significantly, the Learned Special ED Court of Bichar Bhawan, Kolkata, has honorably dismissed them from the money laundering case”.

The State and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) have both acknowledged the pertinent orders of acquittal and discharge, making them final. As a result, Aradeep Chatterjee’s savings, which the police and Enforcement Directorate had seized as proceeds of crime, were released and returned to him, along with the interest that had accumulated.

Aradeep Chatterjee said, “I continued to have complete faith in our legal system despite being wrongly accused. My vindication proves that I complied with all of our country’s laws. It also gives me the freedom to advocate for Psorinum Therapy, an alternative cancer treatment method that has reduced malignant tumors and increased many cancer patients’ chances of survival. Due to its affordability, lack of significant side effects, and potential efficacy in treating specific types of cancer detected at an advanced stage (i.e., Stage IV), this therapy has the potential to significantly contribute to the management of our nation’s distinct cancer burdens”.
