In the presence of Dr. Rajesh Jindel, Sri Sushil Kumar Agarwal, and Dr. Apurba Kabasi, Medella’s installation of HALCYON was formally announced at a press conference.

Medella Cancer Cure Centre located at 87F, BT Road, Agarpara is a cancer daycare center. They have a state-of-the-art linear accelerator called HALCYON. This is the second machine in Eastern India. The machine is made by a USA based company named Varian.

This machine is patient-friendly and uses radiotherapy to treat cancer patients. The machine can treat cancer with pinpoint accuracy.

The bunker at Medella consists of walls and the ceiling is made of eight feet thick solid RCC to protect against radiation.

Speaking at the press meet, Dr. Jindel said “One must be aware of the changes in their body. In that way, they will be able to deal with cancer at the initial stages and also get proper treatment at the earliest. This will help to save lives”.

The cancer care center has fifty beds for daycare chemotherapy. The center is also equipped well to give chemotherapy drugs to the patients. They are also coming up with a unit for palliative care where advanced-stage cancer patients can be treated with supportive and symptomatic treatment only.
