Platform 8 provided an exclusive look at the set of its upcoming web series, Ichchepuran, which is directed by veteran director Haranath Chakraborty. The film’s outstanding ensemble cast and crew were revealed at the set visit.

Ichchepuran is a moving story about the duality of desire and consequence as well as the frailty of human values in the face of temptation. The web series blends fantasy with the harsh realities of society through Apurba, a modest LIC agent who is driven by greed by his unexpected income surge due to the stone’s mystical ability, and the mysterious stone Asei Nirenirum, a relic whispered to grant its bearer’s deepest desires.

“I wanted to explore the intricacies of human desire and the unintended repercussions that come with granting one’s greatest desires with Ichchepuran. The narrative acts as a mirror, showing how quickly moral lines can become hazy in the face of unexpected wealth. Numerous well-known figures from the industry will appear in the series, which will tell an engaging story,” said the director.

The web series has Debraj Bhattacharya playing the role of Apurba, Ishani Sengupta as Apurba’s wife, Aparna, Shankar Debnath as Bhootnath, Korok Samanta as Sadananda, Anindita Bhadra as Shiuli, Rutvik as Bilu, Anirban Bhattacharya as Ratan, Soumen Dutta as Ashok, Abhijit Guha Roy as Zonal Manager, Rana Basu Thakur as Mr Karlekar, Rupkatha Kuila as Jhimli, and Pradip Bhattacharya as Tea Man (Special).

Korak Samanta said, “It gives me great happiness to be directed by Haranath Chakraborty. I got to learn so many things from him. I play an educated toto driver. He has a wife and a kid. We are all having a great time shooting for the series”.

Ishani Sengupta said, “Working with a legendary director is a great opportunity for actors like us. I am getting to learn so many things whenever I come for the shoot”.

With a grand premiere planned for mid-2025, the seven-episode web series Ichchepuran promises to tell a compelling story grounded in harsh reality.
