The Novotel Kolkata Hotel & Residences’ Ministry of Kebabs is hosting Ilish Ache, Bhuribhoj Hobe, a carefully planned à la carte celebration of Hilsa, Bengal’s most famous monsoon delicacy. This ten-day culinary festival, which is set for July 18–27, honors the strong cultural and emotional bond Bengalis have with the Irish and is brought to life through classic recipes, sophisticated cooking methods, and moving storytelling.

The menu, which is curated by Executive Sous Chef Rana Mukherjee, offers a delectable selection of traditional favorites such as Ilish Bhapa Paturi, Ilish Korma, Ilish Begun Dia, Doi Ilish, Ilish Pulao, Kanchalonka Dhonepata Ilish, and Shorshe Ilish. Whether steamed, mustard-marinated, or slow-cooked, each dish honors traditional Bengali cooking techniques while bringing back the rich flavors and sentimentality of Bengal’s culinary past.

Chef Rana Mukherjee said, “Hilsa is an emotion that is ingrained in Bengali culture and is more than just a fish. Our goal with Ilish Ache-Bhuribhoj Hobe was to pay tribute to that heritage by creating a menu that embraces sophisticated flavors and careful preparation methods while remaining grounded in tradition. This is our homage to Bengali food’s timeless essence”.
