Kartick Pyne (1931-2017) was an active painter and supporter of Indian modernism. His paintings, which are heavily influenced by Western modern art and art movements, as well as local, vernacular cultures, faith, and narratives, depict a complex, vibrantly colored fantastic visual world in which the real and imaginary are inextricably linked. They combine profound thinking with an experimental, free-flowing approach to execution.

The exhibition and collateral programs seek to foster dialogue and discussion about his artistic practice, recognizing its relevance and significance in today’s context.

The exhibition will be on for public viewing from 25th February to 30th March, 2025.
