With India’s first-ever Vertical Micro Fiction Web Series, Orange Elephant Studios and Dot Media are poised to transform digital storytelling. This innovative format, which was inspired by the popularity of K-Dramas and Chinese Micro Fiction apps, offers captivating, short-form storytelling that is optimised for vertical smartphone viewing, appealing to today’s fast-paced digital audience.

Afroz Khan and Omkar Phatak, who are experts at telling micro-fiction stories, are the creators of the series, Unmatched. These shows require a very specific writing style in order to capture viewers’ interest from the first moment, keep them interested with surprising turns, and leave them wanting more with suspenseful cliffhanger endings. This series is a snack-worthy piece of content that airs on reels and lands on the Instagram accounts of millions of viewers for free because it is uncommon to achieve this level of storytelling accuracy.

This is the first large-scale microfiction web series in India that isn’t supported by advertisers or brands. “Making content without the S&Ps of a brand is a privilege that one must savor whenever possible. It may mean that you front the production yourself, but at least there is liberty of thought” said Afroz Khan.

Sakshi Keswani, a prominent creator of digital content, and Akshay Anand Kohli, an acting coach and theatre veteran, are featured in the show. Kiann and Sakshi Sneh play important roles in the cast as well.

With Meta focussing on the project, the series will only be available on Instagram, further solidifying its importance in India’s digital content market.

One vertical episode at a time, this innovative program, which is produced by Purvi Khan, Shubham Singhal, Om Singh, and Vaibhav Pathak, is set to revolutionise the way Indian viewers consume fiction.
