Recently, St. Paul’s Cathedral hosted Mentaid Sunday. Mentaid Sunday is a yearly event that aims to raise spiritual and cultural awareness in the community.

Mentaid Sunday is a unique program that gives those with disabilities a chance to perform songs and dances that highlight their strengths and hobbies. The work being done by Mentaid’s VTC (Vocational Training Centre) trainees is showcased through an exhibition of their products. There were other breakfast options available. Mentaid receives the sales profits from these products.

The serene sounds of songs, music, and dance performed by Mentaid’s students and young adults filled the Cathedral’s hallowed grounds. They danced as a group to the song “I came before you today, and there’s just one thing that I want to say…Thank you Lord!”. A group song called “Tu Hi meri Manzil, Tu hi Meri Puja!” came next. The Mentaid’s song marked the end of their program. The Sunday morning event at the Cathedral included performances by the Mentaid youngsters.

Mentaid Sunday saw enthusiastic participation this year, and will continue this tradition next year as well.
