As a global center of convergence of varied minds, SAIMUN offers an unrivaled platform for innovation and collaboration. Globally renowned leaders, intellectuals, and problem solvers convened at SAIMUN’24 to participate in lively conversations, intense arguments, and productive bargaining. This cooperative setting encourages the formulation of workable answers to intricate international problems, which leads to the production of significant resolutions. Delegates who actively participated in SAIMUN’24 acquired priceless insights into global challenges and learned how to negotiate a variety of viewpoints and go beyond vested national interests.

SAIMUN 2024’s opening ceremony was graced by His Excellency, the Hon’ble Governor of Odisha, Shir Raghubar Das, as the chief guest.

In the Global Village, the delegates from AISEC, SIS, Uganda, and Sri Lanka have presented their culture through their activities.

In SAIMUN’24, discussions were done on topics like ‘Evaluating the Legitimacy and Effectiveness of Global Arms Trade Treaties’, ‘Ensuring Access to Education during times of widespread War Crimes, World Hunger, Pandemic and Breakdown of Healthcare Institutions’, ‘Responding to Escalating Tensions in a Fictional Region and Crafting a Comprehensive Peacekeeping Resolution’, ‘Debating the Balance Between National Security and Civil Liberties in Anti-terrorism Measures’, ‘Promoting Sustainable Development in Post-Conflict Regions and Ensuring Inclusive Recovery’, ‘Addressing the impact of conflict on Children’s safety and well-being in the Israel-Palestine Region’, ‘Achieving Gender Parity in Leadership Positions and Closing the Gender Pay Gap (SDG 5 – Gender Equality)’, ‘Addressing the Link Between Drug Abuse and Mental Health (SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being)’, ‘Addressing Biodiversity Loss and Ecosystem Degradation (SDG 15 – Life on Land)’ and ‘Addressing Press Freedom and Journalist Safety in Conflict Zones and Repressive Regimes’).

The students visited Jeevan Jyoti Ashram, an orphanage in Khandagiri near Jaydev Vatika with 40 female inmates. Using plastic waste, they made ornamental planters for indoor and outdoor plantings at the Ashram. To help the ashram with its urgent needs, they also gave groceries and a few other items.

The closing ceremony witnessed the presence of Mr. Chandramouli Guha, National Information Officer, United Nations Information Centre for India and Bhutan as the chief guest.

The SAI Tribune 2024, was released in the closing session by Chief Guest Mr. Chandramouli Guha.
