In a heartwarming cultural event, Shahana, a teenager, made her debut in Rabindrasangeet, demonstrating her deep passion for music and talent for Rabindranath Tagore‘s timeless compositions at Birla Academy Auditorium recently. The recital was a watershed moment in Shahana’s musical career, as she brought the soulful melodies of Rabindra Sangeet to the City of Joy, alongside world-renowned Rabindra Sangeet exponent Manoj Murali Nair.

Shahana, who is from Mumbai, has been singing since she was a child, and as a Bengali, she wants to become more involved in Bengali art and culture. Her admiration for Rabindranath Tagore’s compositions has always been a driving force behind her musical endeavors. Shahana has honed her skills under the tutelage of her mentor, Manoj Murali Nair, and this recital demonstrated her sincere efforts to understand the complexities of this genre.

The evening was filled with exquisite musical sounds, as Shahana, in the presence of her mentor, beautifully rendered some of Tagore’s most beloved songs, captivating the audience with her melodious voice and flawless renditions.
