Special Independence Day Event By ICAI In Pahalgam

In solidarity with the armed forces and renewing its pledge to support the people of Jammu & Kashmir during this difficult time, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) celebrated the 79th Independence Day in Pahalgam alongside the people of Kashmir.
ICAI also held its 445th Council Meeting in Pahalgam as a powerful show of support for the Armed Forces and the people of Jammu & Kashmir. Following the devastating Baisaran disaster on April 22, the event demonstrated trust in the area by bringing together more than 40 top council members and their families to visit the Pahalgam serin valley.
The Honorable Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Omar Abdullah, attended the Council Meeting and expressed his sincere gratitude to ICAI for selecting Pahalgam for this historic occasion. “Your presence here is really significant because it conveys a strong message of assurance and encouragement. It reflects your belief in this place and reassures our people that better days lie ahead,” said Omar Abdullah.

CA. Charanjot Singh Nanda, President, ICAI, said, “Our message is clear as we commemorate Pahalgam’s 79th Independence Day: ICAI is united with the Valley. Our presence here is more than just symbolic. It is a pledge to cooperate for enduring peace, a tribute to optimism, and a reaffirmation that normal life will return. This council meeting was a statement of bravery, perseverance, and group resilience in addition to its governing agenda. We wanted to demonstrate that Kashmir‘s spirit is unwavering by bringing our members and their families to the Valley. Beyond our role in accounting, governance reforms, and economic restoration, ICAI is committed to standing up against the forces of terror and to becoming a participant in establishing a secure and thriving future for this land”.

ICAI reiterated its dedication to bolstering regional economies, promoting trade, and bringing back the simple pleasures of life in Pahalgam. The message was obvious as the national anthem reverberated over the valley: ICAI celebrates the common people of Jammu & Kashmir who are resolute in their efforts to go forward and believe in the strength of the community, particularly during trying times.
