Along with the film’s cast and crew, Tolly diva Srabanti Chatterjee, who is now a presenter for the upcoming Bengali film Daanter Lorai, attended the trailer launch event. The lounge of Heddone, the biggest beverage store in Eastern India, hosted the movie’s trailer launch event.

During the event, Srabanti said, “I am incredibly thrilled to introduce Daanter Lorai. The film is set in the 1970s and centers on Khuku, a girl who has a deep affection for Daanter Lorai, a candy that was very popular at the time. The film tells the tale of Khuku’s ability to manage funds for her father’s medical care and her desire to take him to the big city. The film’s climax is incredibly moving and will undoubtedly stick with viewers for a very long time. Biplob Kayal did a fantastic job making the film, which beautifully depicts the beauty of rural life. I commend 7 Horses Production for creating such a fantastic film”.

She further said, “I also thought the cast’s performance was fantastic. The fact that Akansha Sengupta and Swastika Das, who have portrayed Khuku and her mother, respectively, are the same age and attend the same school has astounded me. The audience cannot figure that out from the trailer or the film alone. This is truly an extremely uncommon occurrence”.

Director Biplab Kayal said, “Having the legendary Srabanti Chatterjee as our presenter is an honor. This film is truly unique. The cast and crew have put in a lot of effort on this project. The audience will undoubtedly be moved by the story. Please see the film in theatres”.

The main character, Khuku, is portrayed by Akansha Sengupta. She said, “Playing a girl from the country was difficult. I had to pick up the language of the village girl. I hope my performance will be well-received by the audience. Additionally, I consider myself extremely fortunate that a legend like Srabanti Ma’am is presenting my debut film”.

The trailer launch event was also graced by singers Debopriyo Das, Arijit Kishore Ray, Parijat Chakraborty, and Abhilash Chakraborty.

Daanter Lorai will release in theatres on 11th July 2025.
