The press conference for the upcoming Bengali film Promoter Boudi was organized recently. The event was graced by director Sourya Deb, actors Swastika Mukherjee, Satyam Bhattacharya, and Shreema Bhattacharjee.

Promoter Boudi is the story of a lady promoter. The film will show how she deals with the personal and professional side of her life.

Swastika Mukherjee said, “The profession of promoters is mainly male-dominated. This film is a welcome relief, as this shows a female promoter, Shanti, who is shown in the film. She is a competent promoter, and she can fight all the odds that she faces. She also has a Boudi Brigade in the film. They work with Boudi. Despite this, she also has a family of her own. It is essentially a family story with all the emotions in place. It also has the message of good winning over evil. Now, family films with many characters are not made. This is in that genre”.

Shreema plays Sushmita in the film. “She is a normal girl-next-door. She is an independent woman who also runs a parlour. She loves her boudi. Getting family support is very important for women who want to work outside. And she provides that support to Boudi. She was originally planning to get married to the person she loved. However, she meets a man later on, and he changes her life”.

Satyam plays the role of Susovan. “He lives in the same neighbourhood as Shanti. He somehow becomes a part of the Boudi Brigade. There is a reason why he joins them. For that, one will have to watch the film. Despite many films that claim to be family entertainers, they end up becoming something else. This film can be watched by the entire family together”.

The director revealed that Satyam’s character will be proposing uniquely. Susovan also has a craze for mutton pieces.

“This is my first film. I have to thank Swastika Mukherjee for being a pillar for the film. Everyone has helped, but her guidance and advice have been immense. I was scolded by Swastika on the sets, even. And after a long time, Swastika Mukherjee has danced her heart out for a song in the film,” added the director.

The other cast members include Rajatava Dutta, Subhrajit Dutta, Gambhira Bhattacharjee, and Jayanta Bandyopadhyay.

The story, screenplay, dialogue, and lyrics have been penned by Sourya Deb.

The background score and music have been composed by Shibasish Banerjee.

The film is eyeing a release on the 27^th of February.
