Tele-Stroke Units By I-NK Inaugurated For The Best Treatment

The Institute of Neuroscience Kolkata organized the World Stroke Day with a grand initiative, “Celebrating a new life”.
It was graced by Ranvir Kumar, IPS, Director General Fire & Emergency Services, Prof Robin Sengupta, OBE, Maj General, Prof A. Chattoraj, DG Admin, I-NK, Prof Milind Deogankar, Head, Dept of Neurosurgery, I-NK, Dr. Sukalyan Purkayastha, Head, Dept of Neuro-Intervention, and Dr. Suprarna Ganguly, Director of Neuro-rehabilitation.
The theme for this year’s World Stroke Day is “Every minute counts”. Hence, all the discussions at the event were on the awareness and educational activities on stroke.

Patients who overcame the grave attack of Stroke were felicitated at the event. They narrated their experience of the disease and how they overcame the disease with the help of the hospital staff. Since they have experienced the disease first-hand, they are the best motivators and educators. They were declared the Stroke Mascot at the event.
Dr. Apratim Chatterjee, Director of Stroke, I-NK, showcased all the future projects of the department with different presentations.

The event also saw the online inauguration of Tele-stroke units in I-NK.
Clinicians, researchers, and innovators gathered at the event for insightful discussions and academic exchanges.
